Fulham Through the Seasons

Celebrating 470 Years of Community

On 29th October 2024, Fulham Good Neighbours, in partnership with Higgins Partnerships, proudly unveiled “Fulham Through the Seasons”, a vibrant 14-metre mural created by Art Club members whose collective 470 years in Fulham capture the borough’s rich history and character. Now displayed on the hoardings at the Hartopp and Lannoy project site on Dawes Road, the mural showcases Fulham’s iconic landscapes, changing seasons, and deep-rooted community spirit.

Local residents and supporters gathered to celebrate the unveiling, making it a significant moment for both the charity and Fulham. Following the ceremony, attendees joined a celebratory tea at Rosaline Hall, Fulham Good Neighbours’ community centre, where the contribution of each Art Club member to this community masterpiece was celebrated.

The mural, curated by London-based artist and designer Roopa S Basu, who also serves as the Art Club’s facilitator. Her vision, creativity, and tireless efforts have been instrumental in curating this mural and bringing it to life, and we are deeply grateful for the passion she has poured into making this a reality.

After agreeing on this inspiring and creative challenge, our Art Club beneficiaries embraced the chance to showcase Fulham’s beauty as they see it. Together, they chose to represent the four seasons of Fulham, a theme that captures the borough’s ever-changing yet always vibrant character.

It features iconic landmarks and beloved aspects of Fulham, including its majestic oak trees, flourishing parks, bustling market stalls, and native wildlife, all brought to life through the eyes of those who hold Fulham closest to their hearts.

Roopa shared that “this mural is more than just art—it’s a visual celebration of Fulham’s rich history, painted by those who know and love it best. The passion and life experiences of Art Club members are reflected in every brushstroke, making this a true community masterpiece.”
